Wednesday, April 16, 2025 – Jakarta International University (JIU) has recently established a meaningful partnership with Yayasan Somang Langit Indonesia, a foundation based in Sumedang, West Java, that is dedicated to expanding educational access in local communities. The foundation operates a range of programs, from early childhood education (PAUD), elementary and formal schooling, to informal learning groups (kelompok belajar). It also provides language classes, helping bridge educational gaps for underserved populations.
This collaboration reflects JIU’s ongoing commitment to holistic education and community engagement. Through this partnership, both institutions aim to strengthen the impactful work already being done by Yayasan Somang Langit. Planned areas of cooperation include teaching and training initiatives, resource sharing, community service programs, and the development of enrichment activities that directly benefit students and families in the region.
In addition, the two institutions are exploring opportunities to prepare and equip students from Yayasan Somang to pursue further studies at JIU. The long-term vision is to empower these students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to return and serve their communities with greater capacity and impact.
As a university committed to excellence in education and service, JIU continues to open its doors to meaningful collaborations that uplift communities and create sustainable change. This partnership with Yayasan Somang Langit Indonesia marks another step forward in fulfilling that mission—bringing together shared values, mutual respect, and a common goal of making quality education accessible to all.
