JIU’s Marketing and Admissions Team hit the road for an exciting week-long trip to Central Sulawesi, and it was nothing short of amazing! From April 23 to April 29, 2025, the team visited schools, churches, and a major pastor conference—meeting hundreds of young people, educators, and community leaders who are passionate about the future.

The main goal of the trip? To spread the word about everything JIU has to offer: high-quality academic programs, scholarship opportunities, and a vibrant student life built on Christian values. And based on the warm welcome in Palu and surrounding areas, it’s clear that the message was well received!

🏫 High School Visits: Connecting With the Next Generation

Over the course of the week, the team visited several high schools and spoke directly with more than 1,400 students from Grades 10 and 11. These sessions were packed with interactive presentations about life at JIU—how the university supports students with scholarships, English-based learning, leadership development, and a caring, faith-based environment.

Many students asked questions, took brochures, and followed JIU on social media right on the spot. Teachers and principals were also enthusiastic, encouraging students to explore higher education early and aim high.

⛪ Church Events: A Heartfelt Welcome

JIU’s outreach also extended into the heart of the community—local churches. The team joined Sunday services and youth fellowships, where they met around 450 members and young people. These moments were more than just presentations—they were conversations filled with encouragement, shared faith, and vision for the future.

Young people showed great interest in how JIU integrates Christian values with academic excellence and global perspectives. Some even stayed after the events to ask how they could apply and prepare.

👥 Pastor Conference: Building Partnerships

One of the trip’s highlights was a regional Pastor Conference, attended by around 350 pastors from the Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) network. JIU introduced its mission and shared how church communities can play a key role in supporting young people to pursue higher education.

The response? Strong interest, big smiles, and a lot of potential for future partnerships. Many pastors expressed their excitement to work with JIU and guide their youth toward educational opportunities.

This trip was just the beginning. With so many connections made and hearts inspired, JIU is excited to welcome more Central Sulawesi students into its growing family. The future is bright—and full of possibility!
