Friday, May 16, 2025 — Jakarta International University (JIU) had the honor of welcoming Dr. Todd Scacewater, a distinguished academic who currently serves as the Provost and Associate Professor at the College of International Studies, Dallas International University (DIU).
Dr. Scacewater was warmly received by JIU Rector, Dr. Agus Hartadi, S.E., M.A., along with university leaders and members of the academic community. This visit was part of JIU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international relations between educational institutions and to explore future opportunities for academic collaboration.
During his visit, Dr. Scacewater delivered several informative presentations introducing the profile and flagship programs of DIU, as well as the university’s approach to global education. He also shared his impressions of his first-ever visit to JIU.
“This is my first time visiting JIU, and I’m truly impressed by the students’ enthusiasm and the international vision of this university,” he remarked during one of the sessions.
In addition to his presentations, Dr. Scacewater was given a campus tour to see the facilities available at JIU, including classrooms, student areas, and the university library. He expressed positive impressions of the infrastructure, noting that it supports active and innovative learning.
The visit continued in the afternoon with a sharing session and training event organized by the JIU Dream Blue Library. In this session, Dr. Scacewater not only shared insights into the international academic world but also provided strong encouragement and motivation to the students. He emphasized the importance of dreaming big, building global competencies, and staying resilient in the face of challenges.
This visit marked a valuable moment for JIU as it expands itSs international partnerships and enriches the global perspective of its campus community. It is hoped that the collaboration between JIU and DIU will grow into student and faculty exchange programs, as well as joint research initiatives in the near future.
