Jakarta International University (JIU) marked another historic milestone by holding its 4th Commencement Ceremony on Friday, August 8, 2025. The event began solemnly at 9:00 a.m. and was attended by parents, families, faculty members, staff, and invited guests who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduates.
This year’s commencement carried the theme “Marching with our banners high, tell the world who we are.” The theme symbolizes the spirit, pride, and determination of the graduates as they step forward into a new chapter of life with confidence. Furthermore, it was framed within the reflection “The Age of Crisis of Leadership and the Loss of Orientation. Start a voyage of New Life with the Sails of Values and the Anchor of Purpose.” Through this message, graduates were reminded to embark on life’s journey with steadfast values and a clear sense of purpose, enabling them to face the challenges of the times.
On this occasion, a total of 20 graduates were conferred degrees from three study programs: English Literature, Japanese Literature, and Accounting. Although the number may seem modest, the moment carried profound meaning, representing the culmination of years of dedication, hard work, and perseverance.
The atmosphere throughout the event was filled with joy and heartfelt emotion. Parents and families proudly watched their sons and daughters don the graduation gown and receive their diplomas—a symbol of academic achievement and the beginning of a new journey. The Founder, along with JIU’s faculty and staff, also conveyed prayers and support, encouraging graduates to move forward with confidence into the professional world or pursue higher levels of education.
The 4th Commencement Ceremony was not merely a celebration of completing academic studies, but also a starting point for graduates to carry JIU’s name into the wider society. Equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values instilled during their studies, the graduates are expected to become individuals of integrity, with global competitiveness, and capable of making meaningful contributions across various fields of life.
