October 31, 2024 – JIU University proudly held its Open House event, aiming to introduce the campus and its values to the broader community. The gathering welcomed participants from various backgrounds, including students from local schools, church communities, and other institutions. The event began at 9:00 AM with an opening prayer by Pdt. Timotius Michael Litha, followed by warm greetings and a brief presentation highlighting JIU’s vision, mission, and unique offerings.
Participants were greeted with an energetic dance performance by JIU students, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The main sessions of the Open House featured two seminars focused on educating the youth in the digital age, presented by Dr. Lahargo Kembaren, SpKJ, and Radius Rangga Yoemana, S.Si. The speakers discussed the social and moral challenges faced by today’s youth and emphasized the importance of psychological approaches in navigating the rapid cultural and technological changes.
After the seminars, attendees enjoyed a lunch break before participating in a guided campus tour led by JIU students. The tour showcased the university’s exceptional facilities, allowing participants to experience the academic environment that supports both learning and personal growth. The enthusiasm was palpable as participants engaged with their student guides, who shared personal insights and experiences at JIU.
The program continued with a lively performance by the JIU student band, entertaining participants after the campus tour. This was followed by a session introducing JIU’s vision and academic programs, providing deeper insights into the diverse educational opportunities available. The event concluded with a prayer led by Pdt. Pieter Napitupulu, marking the end of a meaningful day.
