Tuesday, May 20, 2025 – Jakarta International University (JIU) held another inspiring Leadership Session under the theme “Leading Business God’s Way.” This session is part of the ongoing Leadership course designed to equip students with real-world leadership insights from experienced professionals.
This time, the session featured a distinguished guest speaker, Mr. Marimutu Ganesa, CEO of PT. Mutu Gading Tekstil. With decades of experience in the textile industry, Mr. Marimutu shared his insights and personal journey of leading a business grounded in godly principles.
The event began at 10:00 a.m. in the university auditorium. A student served as the Master of Ceremonies, opening the session with enthusiasm and professionalism. The atmosphere grew more solemn as the Rector of JIU and the course lecturer for Leadership, Dr. Agus Hartadi, S.E., M.A., delivered the opening remarks.
In his speech, Dr. Agus emphasized the importance of sessions like this in shaping the leadership character of JIU students—not only to excel academically and professionally but also to embody strong spiritual values and integrity. He also expressed his deep appreciation for Mr. Marimutu’s willingness to be present and share his experiences with the next generation of leaders.
Following the opening remarks, Mr. Marimutu took the stage to deliver his presentation. He highlighted the importance of godly values in business, particularly for those in leadership roles. According to him, true success in leadership is not merely about profits and business expansion but about running a business with conscience, honesty, and fairness.
“I believe that true leadership is when we are able to lead with the right principles—ones that not only benefit the company but also positively impact the people around us,” said Mr. Marimutu. He also emphasized that values such as honesty, responsibility, and compassion are foundational to building a sustainable business.
More than just theoretical insights, Mr. Marimutu also shared real-life stories from his journey in building and leading PT. Mutu Gading Tekstil. He illustrated how the challenges and crises his company faced became moments of reflection, prompting a return to solid spiritual values and ethical business practices.

Students eagerly asked questions ranging from business strategy to the challenge of maintaining spiritual values in the high-pressure corporate world. Mr. Marimutu answered each question clearly and down-to-earth, providing a practical glimpse into the realities of leadership in business.
