At 10:00 AM, representatives from the Bekasi Regency Tourism Office, including Head of Tourism Mr. Drs. H. Iyan Priyatna, M.Si; Head of Tourism Marketing Ms. Nunung Nur’aeni, S.Kom, M.Si; and Policy and Tourism Analyst Ms. Nadine Clara, arrived at JIU for a pivotal meeting to build a strategic partnership. This visit aimed to introduce the “Tourism and Creative Economy Festival” (Gebyar Kepariwisataan dan Ekraf), a flagship program that showcases Bekasi’s cultural richness and creative economy potential.
Attending on behalf of K-Eduplex were Mr. Peter Yoo, Delegate of Foundation Duranno Indonesia; Dr. Agus Hartadi, S.E., M.A, Rector of JIU; Mr. Suhardiman Zalukhu from HRD; and External Relations Staff Sarah W, B.Sc.
During the meeting, Bekasi’s tourism team outlined the festival’s goals, emphasizing its role in promoting local culture and providing a platform for creative industries. The event, set for May to August 2025, is expected to feature JIU students, whose diverse cultural backgrounds will add a vibrant, international dimension to the celebration. Mr. Iyan has emphasized “Cikarang boasts a large and diverse expatriate community, which presents significant potential for advancing the tourism sector. We invite this multicultural community to participate in the event, fostering meaningful connections while celebrating diversity and showcasing the charm and beauty of Bekasi.”
The upcoming festival is envisioned as a significant annual attraction, strengthening Bekasi’s cultural identity and innovation. Through collaboration with JIU, the event offers students the chance to immerse in local traditions and engage in public performances, enhancing their educational experience and promoting cross-cultural exchange.
