On November 14, 2024, the Next Generation Entrepreneurship Training (NGET) event was held with great enthusiasm at the Nissi Office in Bintaro. This event was the result of a collaboration between UNESCO, Handong Global University (HGU), and Jakarta International University (JIU), aimed at training young people to become entrepreneurial leaders ready to face the challenges of the digital business world.
The first day began with an inspiring seminar by GreatDay HR, a startup company focused on innovation in the workforce and human resource development in the digital era. The seminar discussed various challenges faced by the business world and how innovation plays a role in advancing human resources to address them. The participants, consisting of 47 JIU students and 6 HGU students, were very enthusiastic during the Q&A session, asking insightful questions that reflected their high interest in entrepreneurship and personal development in the digital age.
After the seminar, the event continued with a field practice at one of Jakarta’s shopping malls. During this activity, participants were tasked with identifying stores and analyzing consumer behavior. This hands-on activity provided practical insights into the market, helping participants understand consumer dynamics and the opportunities available in the real-world business landscape. The energy and positive interactions throughout the day set a great tone for the continuation of the workshop.
On the second day, participants were divided into groups to work on case studies provided by the organizers. Each group presented the results of their observations from the field activity the day before, offering interesting findings and analyses. Each presentation was followed by constructive feedback, providing valuable insights that helped participants dive deeper into understanding the market and surrounding business opportunities. The session ended with a special lecture from Prof. Hyongjae Rhee, who shared new perspectives on the importance of adaptation and innovation in entrepreneurship.
The third day of the workshop featured two highly anticipated lectures, led by Prof. Sangwha Lee and Prof. Hyongjae Rhee from HGU UNITWIN. Prof. Sangwha Lee delivered a session on “Rebuild your strategy for Digital Transformation”, discussing the crucial role of digital transformation in modern business strategies. His presentation provided a deep understanding of how companies can leverage technology to enhance their competitiveness in the global market. The following session, led by Prof. Hyongjae Rhee, focused on “Developing Service Products & Brands”. With his extensive experience in product and brand development, Prof. Rhee provided practical insights into how to create products and brands that are accepted in global markets, and how innovative methods can help increase the appeal of services.
Participants’ enthusiasm was evident throughout the lectures. They thoroughly enjoyed each session and were eager to learn more about how to implement the insights gained into their business endeavors.
The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the participants who demonstrated commitment and dedication throughout the event. A group photo marked the perfect ending to three days of inspiration and learning. With new knowledge and a renewed spirit, the participants are expected to take their insights and apply them to develop innovative business ideas, ready to compete in the digital world.
NGET 2024 successfully provided training that not only enriched the participants’ entrepreneurial knowledge but also prepared them to be adaptive and innovative leaders of the future. We hope that this event continues to have a positive impact and inspire the younger generation to boldly chase their dreams and build a brighter future through entrepreneurship.
