A Community Service team from Jakarta International University (JIU) successfully conducted a community-focused initiative in Ngaduman and Kopeng villages. The mission aimed to provide educational support and engage with local youth. Before the trip, the JIU team raised funds through various activities, including sales and events, to support their mission. After a 10-hour bus journey, the team was warmly welcomed by locals upon arrival. During the trip, team members engaged with students at Karmel 1 Elementary School and Tarunatama Vocational High School, introducing subjects such as the Korean language. Students participated enthusiastically in morning activities and community service, including harvesting potatoes and helping local families.
On the fourth day, the team conducted workshops on topics like “The Importance of English” and organized a cultural exchange event featuring performances that showcased both Indonesian and Korean cultures. The team also donated laptops, computers, and books to local schools to enhance students’ learning experiences. After fulfilling their educational mission, the team enjoyed a day of relaxation at Kopeng Tourist Park, participating in various recreational activities. They concluded their trip with a visit to Satya Wacana University, aiming to foster future collaboration between institutions. This Community Service highlighted JIU’s commitment to community engagement and educational support, leaving a positive impact on both the team and the local communities.
