KPPM JIU Seminar: Building Professional Competencies through Higher Education

March 4, 2025 – The transition from university to the professional world is often challenging for many students. To provide deeper insights into this journey, the Research and Community Service Office ( Kantor Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat / KPPM ) of Jakarta International University (JIU) organized a seminar titled “From Undergraduate to Professional: Demystifying the Professional Journey, Building Competencies through Higher Education.” This seminar featured two expert speakers in the field, Mr. Keetaek Park and Ms. Eunhye Roh.

The event commenced at 4:00 PM and was opened by the moderator, Mr. Daniel Sebastian, S.Pd., M.Li., who guided the discussion. The seminar was attended by students from various study programs eager to understand how higher education can help them develop relevant competencies for entering the workforce.

In the main session, the seminar explored key aspects that students need to prepare for as they transition into the professional world. Keetaek Park and Eunhye Roh explained how academic skills acquired during university can be combined with soft skills, such as leadership, communication, and adaptability, to enhance competitiveness in the job market.

Additionally, the seminar highlighted the role of technology in the modern workforce and how graduates can build the necessary competencies to adapt to the rapidly evolving industry landscape.

Following the presentation, the seminar continued with an interactive Q&A session, where students enthusiastically asked questions about career pathways, challenges in the professional world, and strategies for developing skills that align with industry demands.

As a token of appreciation for their valuable contributions in sharing knowledge and experience, Mr. Keetaek Park and Ms. Eunhye Roh received souvenirs from JIU, expressing gratitude for their participation in the seminar.

The “From Undergraduate to Professional” seminar provided valuable insights for students as they prepare to enter the workforce. With increasing competition in the job market, this event served as a strategic initiative by JIU to equip its students with relevant and applicable knowledge and skills for the future.
